No-code and vibe coding, in one sentence
No-code (Bubble) assembles an application through a visual platform. Vibe coding generates real code by steering an AI agent (like Claude Code). Both are fast; they don’t produce the same thing.
Two speeds, two outcomes
Bubble gives you a complete bundle from the start: database, workflows, authentication, payments and hosting, all in one place. Vibe coding generates code that you own, with no platform dependency, but it doesn’t give you that bundle: you still have to assemble, host, secure and maintain it. Generation speed is not time-to-production.
When to lean one way or the other
| Bubble (no-code) fits when | Vibe coding (AI full-code) fits when |
|---|---|
| You’re validating a SaaS or a tool fast, with a complete bundle | Code ownership and performance come first from day one |
| The value is in the data and workflow logic | You or your team have the expertise to review and secure the code |
| You want a predictable running cost | The product justifies a bespoke architecture |
The vibe-coding trap
Vibe coding shares the traps of AI-assisted development: generating code isn’t understanding the right problem, and unreviewed code often carries invisible defects. A project owner who vibe-codes alone, without expertise, risks letting costly mistakes slip through unseen. On top of that sits an economic trap: AI tools are currently sold below their real cost, and their prices are set to rise. Generating cheap code fast today doesn’t guarantee a product that’s cheap to run tomorrow.
The BetterNotCode angle
We’re loyal neither to no-code nor to vibe coding: we’re loyal to the right tool for the problem. Often, the healthiest path combines the two: Bubble for the bundle and the speed of validation, code (AI-assisted, reviewed by a human) where ownership or performance justify it. That’s the hybrid, and drawing that line with you is our job.
